Had you been isolating with a partner with whom things weren’t exactly going smoothly, lockdown might have been a little more taxing for you than others.
But now, restrictions are being lifted; you can meet up in groups and venture out to shops, restaurants and pubs. Again, while many feel it is too early to be doing this, this relaxation of quarantine will act as a saving grace for many who have felt trapped earlier this year.
Should you have been one of those people who was isolating in a couple, now what?
Do you resume ‘the new normal’ with your significant other or is it the actual end of the road?
If you’re not entirely sure what the current status of your relationship or marriage is, it might be worth looking into face-to-face coaching sessions. With appropriate social distancing measures, these can take place and it might do you and your relationship more good if any virtual coaching sessions hadn’t done the trick or were not possible at all.
Try going out with friends or even for walks on your own; time apart from your partner might help alleviate any tension there is between you. Even happy couples will have found some part of the last four to six months stressful. It’s important that, now that you can, you give each other the space you’ve most likely been craving. It’s not a sure way to solve your problems but it might help if too much time together caused the friction.
